Joseph A. Saponaro, President & CEO

Mr. Saponaro joined FPMI as President/CEO in November 2006. He has more than 40 years of experience in information technology software systems, services, and products for the US Government and the commercial market, including 27 years of senior management experience. He is highly accomplished at developing approaches to internal growth and at successfully closing and integrating mergers and acquisitions. He served as President of L-3 Government Services Inc. (GSI) from 2003 to 2006. Prior to that, he was Sector President and General Manager of a $300M business unit of The Titan Corporation. Previously, he was President of AVERSTAR, which was acquired by Titan in 2000. AVERSTAR was formed in 1998 by INTERMETRICS (a public company), where Mr. Saponaro was employed for nearly 30 years. He served as President and CEO of INTERMETRICS for 14 years prior to the formation of AVERSTAR. He holds a B.S. in Navigation and Astronomy from the Maritime Academy and an M.S. in Mathematics from Northeastern University. He has also completed coursework toward a Ph.D. in Aeronautics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has served on the Board of Directors and as Advisory BOD member for several information technology companies and professional industry organizations.
